Pre-Release for Cohesión captures Venezuelan-born singer and songwriter Eliana Cuevas at an early stage in her artistic journey, bringing together the many musical influences that shaped her voice in Toronto’s vibrant Latin and jazz scenes. The album blends salsa, Brazilian, and jazz elements into a sound that feels warm, rhythmic, and deeply collaborative.

The recording features arrangements by noted Latin producer and National Jazz Award recipient Brownman Ali, alongside contributions from Peruvian conga master Luisito Orbegoso and Cuban montuno specialist Ruben Vasquez. Together with a group of musicians drawn from Toronto’s Latin and jazz communities, they create a tight, expressive ensemble that moves effortlessly between groove, melody, and improvisation.

Written primarily in Spanish, Cuevas’s songs highlight her expressive voice and instinct for melody, combining heartfelt lyrics with lively rhythms and rich arrangements. Cohesion reflects the spirit of musical exchange at the heart of her work—bringing different traditions together in a way that feels natural, energetic, and sincere.
